What a Snowtastic Week!
Ok . . . so . . . like . . . what was up with all the snow last week?!!! I'm from New York and I don't ever recall seeing so much snow. I mean . . . really! We got hit with a "one-two punch." I don't know about you, but I was a bit snow-verwhelmed. I had snow up to my knees. Even the federal government shut down for 4 days. Obama called it "Snowmaggedon." Others called it "Snowpocalypse."
And forget trying to get to the grocery store the night before the storm because the lines were ridiculous, right? The line at the store in my neighborhood extended all the way down the aisle!
State officials are reporting the storms cost Maryland hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic activity. Bummer!
But even though you were snowbound for a few days, look on the bright side:
1. Though the roads were treacherous, the snow really did make it look like a Winter Wonderland
2. Some people benefited as a result of the storms: (1) retailers who sell shovels, ice melt, and other snow supplies; (2) roof companies; and (3) snowplow repairpersons
3. The kids got to have fun playing in the snow
4. You saved money on gas because you didn't go to work
5. Even though settlement companies were closed for part of the week causing many settlements to be delayed, things in the real estate market should be back to normal this week
6. According to data from Metropolitan Regional Information Systems (MRIS), even during the two storms, there were 21 closed sales in Howard County
7. Last and most importantly . . . you got to watch Dr. Oz, The Doctors, and Oprah! What could be better than that?!!
Until next time.
Be well.
